Maintaining Accreditation

Alion accredits an organization’s human research protection program (HRPP) for five years.

Years 1 through 3, after the award of accreditation:

  • Organization maintains accreditation by submitting an annual report
  • Report is usually submitted by the anniversary of accreditation

Year 4, one year prior to the expiration of accreditation:

  • Organization submits an application for reaccreditation
  • No annual report is required in this last year

OHRP has implemented a practice to redact from compliance oversight determination letters posted on its website any sections that discuss unresolved concerns, questions, or allegations related to an ongoing investigation.
